Rohit Arya_ Sacred India Tarot# Creating the Emperor

The Emperor card happened really swiftly. The choice for the card was debated a bit but Brahma was once a very well regarded and powerful god worshiped all over the land. Changing patterns of sadhana saw Brahma fall out of favor as the focus began to be on internal fire methods of Yoga and Tantra , rather than the external fire sacrifice that had prevailed for so long and in which system he was such a great power. I stuck to the familiar mythology currently prevalent.

Rohit’s Notes:

“We shall send you many options where visuals are concerned.  Please use them to design an original take of your own.  All I ask is that his complexion be red and that he not be shown as an old man.  Shiva, Vishnu and Brahma form the great White, Black and Red trio.”

Jane’s Notes:

“He is An ALCHEMICAL FOUNTAIN – the male vigour of the waters/subconscious. His torso is red, like some of the sacred rocks and igneous hills in India.  He might tend to excess – to scatter force?  The guiding principle of this card is actually “order” and “regulation”.  Projects welling from Saraswathi and blessed by Laxmi, start to be applied.  They take on authority, shape and dimension.  This sylvan landscape where Vishnu the Sustainer of Creativity sleeps comfortably on the World Serpent, echoes the landscape,  lake and Sri Chakra Yantra below Laxmi.  Brahma is in fact a wonderful dream arising out of Vishnu’s solar plexus.”

Correspondence: Rohit and Gautam:  “We have received Brahma and we like it very much.  It communicates the aura of authority in a very subtle and effective manner, the particular interpretation of Vishnu is quite unusual as is the cosmic fountain of creation.  The heart shaped threshold of love that the swans create, is a brilliant touch.  We like the adornments – exactly what we were looking for.  This card like Saraswathi, does not require any changes.  We look forward to Manu.”
